How can data be recovered from an eMMC card?

We reasoned that eMMC memory is a less expensive, slower, and non-removable option to SSD drives, which are frequently found in mobile devices like phones and tablets as well as ultra-thin laptops. Is data recovery any different from SSD drives with this device? Hence ICFix Service provides eMMC training courses in Chennai.

Although the technology for recovering data from eMMC drives is comparable to that of SSDs, the actual process is rather different. Since eMMC memory is permanently bonded to the main circuit board and is not detachable, connecting it to another PC is virtually difficult. While many data recovery labs have specialized hardware that enables them to connect to eMMC chips directly, home or office users cannot utilize this method.

Before moving on to the actual instructions for recovering eMMC media, it is important to note that the following information only applies to Windows-based devices. In general, it works with any version of Windows, however, the majority of eMMC memory-using devices are probably running Windows 8.1 or the somewhat older Windows 8. Unfortunately, there is currently no effective, all-encompassing method for retrieving data from Android smartphones and tablets. On iOS-powered devices, erased files cannot be recovered in any way. Windows is quite different.

It’s not too difficult to recover erased files from an eMMC device. If your device has a micro SD slot, you’ll need to install a data recovery tool on an external storage device like a micro SD card, or if it supports USB on-the-go (OTG), an OTG flash drive. Alternatively, you may just set up the data recovery program on a network drive (share a folder on your desktop PC and map it as a drive letter on your Windows tablet; doing so is simple but outside the scope of this post). Given that eMMC drives are often much smaller than standard SSD drives or computer hard drives, you *must* heed the aforementioned advice. Because there is less free memory available, there is a much larger likelihood than usual that fresh data will be stored in the precise memory cells that your removed files used.

You can open and perform a disc scan as usual after installing a data recovery product (such as RS Partition Recovery or the less complex File Undelete Software) onto a different disc. Your files will show up in the list of recoverable files if they are still retrievable. To view a preview of each file, click on it.

Your personal files and folders have been entirely erased if you used a factory reset approach to recover Windows or if you completely reinstalled the operating system. There is still a chance you will be able to find at least some of your files because you did not alter the initial Windows partition.

In this situation, Partition Recovery Software—the best data recovery solution supporting low-level data carving—is required. This is because, after being completely initialized, the file system leaves no trace of your previous files. Because of this, the data recovery program will need to read the whole contents of the eMMC storage to find and recognize common file kinds like emails, images, ZIP/RAR archives, and other known sorts of files.

The same safety measures apply whether you install the data recovery tool on an SD card, an OTG flash drive, or a mapped network disc. Run the tool again and run a standard system scan after that. The files will be listed and can be previewed as usual if anything is discovered.
