Why is my laptop fan not turning off even after the shutdown?

Are the lights and the fan still on when you turn off your computer? If it remains ON, it is a highly alarming issue that you shouldn’t ignore any longer. Usually, this is a problem with how your system should use its power. Some incorrectly adjusted Power Profile settings are bringing on this issue. Hence ICFix Service offers a laptop chip-level training course in Chennai.

The computer may not be operating as efficiently as it may be or may have blocked air vents if the fan runs continuously and generates a deafening noise. It’s crucial to prevent dust from gathering inside your computer and to make sure there is enough airflow to assist in minimizing heat.

The computer’s performance may suffer as a result of the fans running longer and more frequently as a result of excessive heat. For the purpose of keeping the internal components cool, your computer may have one or more fans. A computer will often produce some heat while operating normally, and depending on usage, will get warm to the touch. A problem can be present if fans continue to spin swiftly and generate unusually loud noises.

Common reasons for overheating, irregular or loud fan noise and malfunctioning fans include:

● A fan or air vent that is blocked

● Dust buildup on fans or vents

● Inadequate ventilation

● Physical injury

● Outdated device drivers and the BIOS

There is a risk that the Windows rapid startup setting may interfere with your computer’s shut-down process if you shut down your computer properly using the start menu of Windows or by hitting the power button but some internal components, such as the fans or lights, are still powered on. You must disable quick startup in your Windows settings in order to fix this issue. Follow the instructions below to do this.

1. Hold down the Windows key while pressing and holding the Q key.

2. Type “Power and Sleep” into the search bar.

3. Click or tap Power & Sleep (System Settings).

4. Click on Additional Power Settings in the Related Settings section of the Power & Sleep window.

5. Click the hyperlink. On the left menu, select what the power buttons do.

6. At the top of the window, select Change settings that are not available right now.

7. The options for the checkmark at the bottom should now be accessible. You must uncheck the box next to Turn on fast startup (recommended) in order to disable
this function.

8. To save changes, click.

9. To see if this adjustment has fixed your problems, try restarting your computer.

10. Repetition of steps 1-6 and activation of the checkmark at step 7 are optional if you want to enable fast startup again in the future.
